Diploid is simply 2n, where diploid means using two copies of a specific gene on your plant. The unique characteristics of each phase are dependent on the number of times the same receptor happens. A diploid plant will continually be part of the spore or seed life cycle. When a plant is diploid, it'll always have at least one spore. On the flip side, if a plant is triploid, it will always have at least one seed. For a plant to go from spore to seed to seedling, it has to develop an outward tip that attaches to the wall. The outside tip of the developing plant is referred to as a leaf and the bud onto the tip will become the blossom. Eventually, since the flower develops, the bud grows and develops into a fruit. Next, the plant is known as a spore and it develops into one cell. Then, the spore requires a while to split into two cells. Once the split is complete, the new cells visit the different phases. The following phase is known as the root. And the final stage is called the stem. A triploid plant has three copies of a gene and the four stages are the same as a diploid plant. The four stages are seed, flower, stem and fruit. The same as the diploid plant, the triploid plant will always go from seed to a stem to a blossom to a fruit. In order for a triploid plant to go from spore to blossom to a stem into a fruit, then it must split into two stages. The different phases of this triploid are referred to as the juvenile, vegetative and reproductive stages. The three phases are very distinct from each other but are associated with the foliage, stem and flower. To summarize, a tripod has three copies of a gene while a diploid has two duplicates. Therefore, a tripod would always go out of a spore into a stem into a flower to a seed to a fruit into a stem to a flower to a seed to a stem to a fruit. If you're confused about whether your plant is diploid or triploid, study the life cycle diagram below. Which one are you? This article was written to help you realize the differences between a diploid (2n) and triploid (3n) vegetation cycle diagram.
